Getting To Know the 5 love Languages

Speaking your partner’s language is the key to a fulfilling relationship

If you’re a romantic, you’re probably familiar with the idea of love languages, but how much do you really know about them in practice?

The idea was coined by Dr. Gary Chapman in his 1992 book ‘The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate’ and it can give you a better idea of how to express your feelings to your partner. It can also give you some insight into how you like (or don’t like) to be shown affection.

Knowing your partner’s love language is a key part of a fulfilling relationship, so let’s dig in deeper to really understand each of the five languages and how you can express them better.

This one may be a bit understood. While there are the obvious sexual connotations, physical touch can also be a subtle and tangible way to express your love to your partner. If this is your love language, something as simple as holding hands, a peck on the cheek or a hug can help you feel that sense of affection from your loved one. Find some time throughout your day to sit close together, maybe on the couch or out at a movie.
